your callsign, your station.

Your practice identity and the station used for lesson drills, then the things this device remembers.

Your practice

A UK-style training registration: G followed by four letters, e.g. G-ABCD. Simulation only.

CAP413 11.4–11.5: solo student pilots who do not yet hold a licence prefix their callsign with STUDENT on initial contact, and the station acknowledges using the prefix.

Used in your flight brief and the ‘pass your message’ call. Say it the way you would on the radio.

Your browser will ask to use the microphone. Audio leaves this device only while you hold push to talk; the level check here stays local.

Higher settings add band-limiting, distortion, hiss and static. The sample call plays a station transmission while you adjust.

Station speed

Faster asks the voice to read more briskly, like a busy controller; it is a quicker read, not a sped-up recording.

Now and then the station says “standby” and calls back a few seconds later. The voice may add a hesitation or a “good day”. These habits are spoken only: the transcript and the marking always use CAP413 phraseology.

The radio, your next call, the flight brief and the notes can be dragged, or moved with each panel's Move menu, to either side of the radio exchange.
